The mission of Flourishing Family Academy is to provide a Christ-centered, academically enriching, and supportive community for homeschooling families. We strive to partner with parents in equipping their children with knowledge, skills, and character to impact the world for Christ.
-
To be a leading homeschool enrichment center recognized for academic excellence, spiritual growth, and a vibrant community where students thrive, develop a lifelong love for learning, and parents are valued partners in the journey.
-
We believe these foundational truths guide our homeschool community and the spiritual growth of our children:
1. The Bible – The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. While there are different interpretations, we teach and follow its guidance as the ultimate source of truth.
2. God’s Creation – God created man and woman in His image. We believe children should honor and respect the way God created them.
3. Jesus Christ – Jesus, the Son of God, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose again to provide forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
4. Salvation and Discipleship – Following Christ requires hearing, learning, believing, confessing faith, being baptized, and continuing to live in obedience to Him. Learning and understanding God’s Word is an essential part of responding to His call.
5. Marriage and Family – We believe marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman. Families should honor God’s design in family and relationships.
6. There are two sexes - male and female, and two genders - man and woman.
7. Sanctity of Life – Life is sacred from conception and should be valued and protected.
8. Prayer and Spiritual Growth – Children and families are encouraged to pray, read the Bible, and grow spiritually in daily life.
9. Community and Responsibility – Parents are the primary spiritual and educational guides for their children and are expected to partner with teachers to create a nurturing, biblically-informed learning environment.
-
As partners in your child's education, we value your involvement and cooperation. We request that all parents adhere to the following guidelines:
Expectations:
You are responsible for your child’s education; our classes are supplemental.
Supervise your child when they are not in class.
Drop off and pick up students on time.
All students must be registered for classes; siblings may not remain unsupervised.
Parents are expected to guide their children in following instructions within the classroom and to collaborate with teachers in supporting their child’s learning and development.
-
We believe parents have the greatest influence on their child’s spiritual journey, and we want to honor and support that role. Partnering with parents means keeping them informed, encouraging meaningful faith conversations at home, and offering support whenever it’s needed.

Behavior Expectations and Correction Policy
We use the Connected Families Framework to guide how we support our students. We aim to help students feel safe, loved, called, capable, and responsible as they learn and grow. If a student does not respond to repeated coaching and their behavior disrupts the learning environment, we may ask that the student not return to the program. If a student is dismissed and a refund will be issued for any remaining classes. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to create a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment for all students. Please see this link for more information about the Connected Families Framework.

Parents may attend classes that their children are in as long as space allows. Classrooms have big windows so parents can peak in without disturbing the class.
Children under the age of 7 must have a parent present at the center, or arrange for another parent to be available to assist if needed. Young children may occasionally need help returning to class after a bathroom break or may require assistance during lunch, with art projects, or other activities throughout the day.
Parents determine attendance, but consistency benefits students.
Please notify teachers when absent.
-
Students may eat during class with the teacher’s approval.
Students must clean up afterward or lose snack privileges.
-
Clothing should be modest and appropriate for active learning.
Covers midriff, chest, and bottom.
No offensive images or text.
When in doubt, choose modesty.
-
Our Director, Amanda Kan, brings extensive experience working with children with unique needs. If your child has any specific needs that should be addressed, please inform the director so we can provide the appropriate support.
When necessary, accommodations will be discussed and arranged on a case-by-case basis. One option to consider is hiring a teacher’s aide or having a parent stay to help. However, this level of support may not be needed in all situations.
-
Students may bring cell phones or smart watches to class, but use is allowed only with parent and teacher permission. Students may not access the internet on these devices during class. If a student needs to text or call a parent, this is acceptable.
For the safety and well-being of all students, research shows that unsupervised device use can be harmful, including distractions, exposure to inappropriate content, and negative impacts on focus and mental health. Therefore, if device misuse becomes an issue in class, students may be asked to leave their phones or smart watches at home. This policy is designed to protect students and support a focused, safe learning environment.
